Pricing FAQs
How does the pricing structure work?
It's quite simple. You can opt to be on any of our pricing schemes - whichever one suits you best. Each scheme consists of a fixed monthly amount, which entitles you to a certain number of pages. Once you go over that number of pages, you pay a charge per additional page. You can change your plan whenever you like.Do I have to sign a contract?
Certainly not! You are under no obligation when signing up for our free trial other than consenting to the Terms and Conditions. View our Terms and Conditions
Do I have to commit for a certain period of time?
Certainly not! You will not be asked to commit for any period of time. You can cancel your account at any time.
Do you charge setup fees in addition to the monthly fee?
None at all! There are no charges over and above the monthly fee.
What is included in the monthly fee?
You get access to all the features of the Caliban system, including:
* Fast, template-based web page creation
* Unlimited phone and email support
* Every page optimised for search engines
* Reports on what searches, and which search engines, are finding your site
* The ability to turn your site into a set of components for fast, easy management
Your monthly fee entitles you a set number of pages (i.e. Caliban Documents and Templates) at no additional charge. This number varies according to the plan you choose.
How is the monthly fee determined?
Your First Charge - When you sign up to pay for Caliban, your first charge is based on the number of documents and templates you have in your account. As long as that figure does not exceed the number of pages specified in the plan you have chosen, then you will just pay the standard monthly charge for that plan.
Your Monthly Charge - Each month on your billing date, you are charged in advance based upon the highest number of pages you had in your account during the previous month.
What happens if the number of my pages goes up and down?
We will adjust accordingly to the number of documents and templates. Pricing is based upon the greatest number of pages in your Caliban account during the previous billing period. This means if your site changes (increasing or decreasing over time) your pricing will automatically reflect this change.
Does my credit card get billed right away?
There is no credit card required to sign up and take advantage of the 60-day free trial! However, once your free trial has expired, (Either when your 60 days have passed and you have more than 5 pages in your account or if your site exceeds the trial limit of 15 pages during your first 60 days), you will be invited to pay for the service. At this time, the first charge is based on the number of pages you have in your account at the time your trial expires.
Isn't this more expensive than using software?
There are many ways to manage a website, including free software and packages which you buy, like FrontPage, GoLive and DreamWeaver. Some ISPs also offer template-based ways to generate web pages.
However, Caliban scores in many ways, pricewise, against these alternatives:
* There is no need to purchase software
* You have no ISP charges
* Software is never out of date; no need to upgrade (at a cost) to a new software version in the future.
* You can access, create and maintain you pages from any machine anywhere in the world
* You don't need to pay an SEO specialist to get your site found
* When you want to change your content you don't need to pay a web specialist
* When you change the design of your site, you can update it just by changing templates
* You get the benefit of continual research, development and innovation at no extra cost
* You find out what pages are being found, by what search terms, through which search engines and where those searches are coming from, at no extra cost.
